A low-cost 3D scanner that allows you to realize your projects  - Maker Faire Rome

OpenScan finally offers the possibility to copy real objects with one click

For anyone who wants to transform their idea into a working prototype, it can be of great help to have the possibility to replicate small components, that is to say, to scan 3D objects and then replicate them.

The invention of a German maker, which we present below, has precisely this purpose: it is called OpenScan and is a low-cost 3D scanner compatible with most cameras currently on the market.

With OpenScan, it is easy to take photographs of small objects (from .78 to 5.9 in [2 to 15 cm]) made of wood, glass, or any other material. It is finally possible to make a copy of security keys, a model, or an accessory without any problems.

Furthermore, the scanner uses totally free software and can be connected directly to your smartphone or via Bluetooth.
