Swippit is the device that could change how we charge our smartphone
It’s called Swippit and it could change how we charge our smartphones within a few months. This gadget was presented at CES 2025, the world’s most important tech fair currently taking place in Las Vegas until January 11th.
Swippitt is an Instant Power System designed to double the lifespan of your phone’s battery and deliver instant access to power in seconds.
What might appear to be a toaster with a very modern design is actually a cutting-edge method for recharging smartphones in record time.
Let’s look at the details, how it works, and its features.
How Swippit charges phones quickly: battery replacement
Swippit is, technically, an instant power system. Using it is extremely simple: insert your phone into the slot and extract it, just a few seconds later, with a recharged battery. But how is this possible?
The functioning of the so-called “Hub” is closely tied to a special phone case, called “Link” that’s already available in various colors. This case – like many already on the market – integrates an external battery that charges the phone while you use it.
The innovation of Swippit therefore lies in the “toaster.” Rather than having to recharge the external battery once depleted, the box replaces it with an already charged one. The charging station can hold up to 5 Link batteries, which charge inside it and are ready to be swapped. The depleted battery that is deposited in the box is then recharged by the station.This entire process takes just two seconds.
An additional advantage is that phone charging is essentially a mechanical process – happening inside the box with the battery replacement – therefore it potentially adapts to any type of phone as long as it has the appropriate case. Consequently, it could serve an entire family, even if members have different phones.
The Swippit system also includes a free app that allows constant monitoring of the charging status of all batteries (meaning all those connected to the same Hub), sending precise notifications about the battery status in the “Link” case.

Price, features and compatible phones with the Swippit system: what we know
The cost for the entire Swippit Hub, containing five batteries, is $450, while the phone case with one battery included costs $120.
Regarding its physical characteristics, the Hub appears as a rectangular box with a slot on the top. Around the perimeter is a LED strip that flashes when the battery exchange is complete, notifying users that they can remove their phone. The design is minimalist, available colors are black and white with various ways to customize the “base,” which can have a wood-effect finish, for example.
It’s a lightweight and compact device. It weighs just over two kilograms and its dimensions are: 335.6mm (L) x 142mm (W) x 169.7mm (H).
Compatible devices at launch include all iPhone 14, 15, and 16 models. However, the company already plans to release “Link” cases for new generations of devices by the end of this year, not just for iPhones but for Android phones as well.
