Biochar: Carbon R-Evolution

Can carbon become a climate ally instead of a threat? Under what conditions? In a world where climate change is endangering life on Earth as we know it today, we boldly tackle the topic of biochar in this two-part talk. Through an enlightening perspective, the speakers guide us into the world of biochar, an ancient and very modern technology that can change the pace in our efforts against global warming. In this talk we try to rethink our approach to carbon with biochar, embracing a paradigm in which it is seen as a resource. Through concrete examples and practical solutions, we will show how biochar makes it possible to become carbon-negative through the recovery and efficient use of residues and waste, which can thus replace fossil-based materials, retaining carbon on earth instead of releasing it and forming carbon dioxide.
