Stand-up craft. Unpacking stereotypes and authenticity of creative manufacturing with a comedy-based approach

The performance features actors from northeast Italy collaborating with Aiku research team to create a stand-up comedy show. Using irony, they explore fresh perspectives on craftsmanship. Employing 'comedy as method' for research, this initiative employs humor across media to express findings and provoke reflection on societal norms. Rooted in 'arts-based methodology', it integrates creative arts and qualitative research. Based on interviews, the show blends engagement and insight, aiming to entertain and provoke thought. It builds on extensive research and artistic work, referencing the AIKU project at Maker Faire 2024. Lasting 1.5 hours, it includes an introduction detailing its co-creation process linking research, art, and craft.
