Italia Media Art Festival 2024: Virtual Reality Painting Workshop (stand E.04)

We are pleased to invite you to the event "At the Edge of Reality," a virtual reality painting workshop featuring the participation of artist Mariia Plekhova, on the occasion of the first edition of the Italia Media Art Festival (IMAF), which will take place during Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition 2024.

Mariia Plekhova is a young Russian artist who has developed a personal abstract style based on two fundamental concepts: color and movement. In her works, impulsiveness, speed, and calm transform into luminous reflections that take shape. Mariia believes that the union of technology and art holds a promising future. She explores the possibilities offered by virtual reality, creating hybrid paintings at the intersection of two realities. She studied sculpture and painting at an Art School in Sicily and is currently continuing her creative journey in Rome, where she is a student at LUMSA University and studies contemporary art online at the University of Oxford. She also organizes creative workshops for children and adults, which have already involved over 500 people of different nationalities. Her motto is: "Creativity in the present, success in the future!"

Event Objective:
Introduce Maker Faire visitors to emerging technologies applied to art and creativity. Participants will have the opportunity not only to immerse themselves in a virtual reality painting workshop, experiencing the creative process as real artists, but also to observe the development of the artworks in real-time. Additionally, they will be able to admire an exhibition of extraordinary digital works that innovatively blend art and technology.
