In this talk I want to explain how powerful the context of a fablab can be for entrepreneurs. In the Brussels Fablab, we had a European Funded Regional Development project called "FabLabXL: Fabrication of the Future" for 2 years. In this talk we describe the results of this program, and explain that this model can be adopted by any fablab - in particular the one's that are connected with colleges/universities.

While being a lecturer in computer science and multimedia I discovered the maker community some years ago. As a result of that we started the Brussels fablab in 2011 in the Erasmus University College of Brussels and saw the fantastic opportunities not only for our own students, but also for children, people from the neigbourhood, makers, hackers, thinkerers and entrepreneurs.
The fablab and maker movement is the most exciting evolution in learning, making and sharing I have ever experienced and I can't stop talking about it! This really is a game changer for our future generation of learners, workers, entrepreneurs and citizens.
It is the most important event in the world of innovation. Is a showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. Maker Faire gathers together tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, schools, universities, research institutes, artists, students, and corporations. Makers come to show their creations and share their learnings. Attendees flock to Maker Faire Rome to glimpse the future and find the inspiration to become Makers themselves.
