il gioiello e la stampa 3D , la trasformazione dei materiali
Contemporary jewelery makes use of non precious materials, and materials originally intended for other uses, all of which enhances its conceptual potential and production.
Until now, some of the materials that I had wanted to transform were oil filters, electrical cables or hardware bolts, but the plastic 3D printing, with its continuous developments, represents a challenge and a unique opportunity to implement the alchemy that is organically inherent in jewelry.
The collections that I will be presenting this year are focused on the interaction of worlds very different from one another- that of 3D printing materials, and that of the more classically handcrafted materials.
Porcelain, wood, and metal will interact with plastic shaping, giving life to objects that are not only beautiful, but also interesting from the point of view of their production and design.the collection will be VENTO di Paola Volpi e Nahye Ko .
with dissimilar materials, otherwise not meant for that
use, but originally intended for other functions.
The TRANSFORMATION as alchemy of different elements that
together take a new and precious life.
Since 1997, I have my own line of designer jewelry where
the transformation of industrial materials, of common use
is my main inspiration.
From 2002 to 2008 I provided my own productions and worked
with the best design stores in the world, in particular
with the MOMA in NY that sold my collections continuously
for 7 years.
In 2004 I won the DESIGN PODIUM at Monaco INHORGENTA trade
From 2006 to 2013 I had my own store in Rome.
Since 2006 I teach design of contemporary jewelery at IED
in Rome with particular reference to the design of lines of
jewelry and accessories whose identity is based on the
TRANSFORMATION OF POOR MATERIALS, INDUSTRIAL OR RECYCLED
into precious and unique objects.
