What we already thought would be a fun trip turned out to be so much more: the love and enthusiasm of the exhibitors, attendees and Maker Faire Rome’s team for innovation, education, and general celebration of the maker movement was awe-inspiring. There is so much to see that a single year in attendance is not enough, so if you ever get the opportunity, head to this show, soak in the sea of inventions, and make some great friends along the way.

Genzyme, a Sanofi Company
Genzyme has pioneered the development and delivery of transformative therapies for over 30 years. Founded in 1981 in Boston, Massachusetts, Genzyme evolved from a tiny start-up with just a handful of employees to one of the world's leading biotech companies. Acquired by Sanofi in 2011, Genzyme now benefits from the reach and resources of one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, with a shared commitment to improving the lives of patients. Genzyme is committed to discovering and delivering transformative therapies for patients with rare and special unmet medical needs, providing hope where there was none before.
At Maker Faire 2015, Genzyme, within its booth, will host a series of experiences: Rare Lives, Under Pressure photos as well as Expression of Hope artworks where the patient is the leading actor. Thanks to these exhibitions, it will be possible to see the world through patients’ eyes and truly understand what is the meaning of living a rare life or suffering from multiple sclerosis.
Moreover, three workshops will be arranged in order to connect Makers and patients community. Letting the Makers better understand patients’ needs, should bring to the creation of devices or practical solutions that can make patients everyday life easier.
Starting from this, Genzyme 2016 contest will be launched. Come visit our booth! Multiple and rare opportunities are waiting for you!
