openQCM la microbilancia a cristalli di quarzo open source

openQCM is the unique open hardware quartz crystal microbalance for applications in scientific field using Arduino and 3d printing. Thanks to the ergonomic and essential design, openQCM is a user-friendly scientific microbalance capable of measuring phenomena at molecular scale and weighing mass down to 1 billionth of gram. The sensing core of openQCM is a piezoelectric quartz crystal, whose vibration frequency changes if a mass variation occurs on its surface. The open source approach makes openQCM publicly available so that anyone can study, modify, and develop the original design.

Raffaele Battaglia
I am an astrophysicist, co-founder of Novaetech Srl. After obtaining the aerospace engineering Ph.D., I have been involved in the development of mass sensors for planetary space missions and coordinated many research projects in the biomedical and biological fields.

Gianluca Ferrini
I am an astrophysicist, co-founder of Novaetech Srl and expert in spectroscopy and analysis of extraterrestrial materials. After obtaining the aerospace engineering Ph.D., I collaborated in Novaetech S.r.l. with LANDS Team for the analysis of cometary dust sample collected by space probe NASA Stardust. The results were published on Science magazine. I also collaborate with Berkeley University in order to develop a new manipulation technique for microparticles

Glenda Torres Guizado
I am an Industrial Designer with experience in the design of electronic appliances of medium complexity. I follow each project from concept through optimization, with special attention to ergonomics and ease in using the assembly of the product.
Specializations: development of synthetic products made with injection and rotational molding, thermoforming, thermoplastic composites. and 3D printing.
Experience in open source project.

Marco Mauro
I am a physicist currently employed as Scientific Coordinator at Novaetech S.r.l. I have an experience in design and development of analysis systems based on micromechanical sensors and Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM). Expertise: development of scientific devices for highly sensitive mass measurement, biosensors and gas sensors, enviromental monitoring, aerosol and PM (Particulate Matter) sensor, software developoment and electronic prototyping. Background in theoretical physics and mathematics.
Science, technology and open source enthusiast. Above all a lucky guy.
