Officucina - Future Food Lab

Created specifically for the Food Innovation Program (www.foodinnovationprogram.org), Officucina is an exclusive kitchen hybrid maker space for food innovators that blends culinary tools with 3D printers, laser cutters, sensors, Arduino, and more, offering a unique and creative learning experience for students to develop their prototypes. It is used as a platform for exploration and creation, combining the facilities of an office and a kitchen, to experiment with food innovation in real time.
At Maker Faire Rome .
It will be made of 5 food areas/"experiences" taken from IFTF Seeds of Disruption Map:
http://www.iftf.org/maps/seeds-of-disruption/seeds-of-disruption-map/#production
We will explore food production, distribution, manufacturing, shopping, eating through the showcase of prototypes from international makers and startups (e.g. edible packaging, drones for precision farming, food 3d printers, molecular scanners, hydroponic systems, future foods) and workshops (kids labs combining food, science, cooking + workshops on smart farming and smart analysis).

Future Food Institute

Food is a global language and a driver for global economic prosperity. Food is also a catalyst for change and food players are often pioneers that are responsible for more than just the bottom line; their choices can have tremendous impacts on human health and world sustainability. So how do we face the urgent issues of creating a more sustainable future of food while understanding technology’s role in closing the gaps in our food system? The key is knowledge and education, the cornerstone of innovation.
