SecondSight
SecondSight uses ultrasound to "see" ALL the reflections on objects so with the skill of blink people it's possible to imagine the coomplex reality surrounding the listener. The use of low power microcontrollers and ultrasonic sensors and emitters allows the production of a cheap device. With a small solar panel the SecondSight can work autonomously without the need of an external power source. The final cost will be surcharged for a production of devices intended for blind people that have not the possibility to buy a similar device.
