The project was developed by the class 5AE specialising in electronic-electrical engineering with the collaboration of two students from class 5AM specialising in mechanical-mechatronics for a total of 17 students. The team was formed to take part in the 7th edition of the Italian automation Olympic Games 2016 organized by Siemens on orders from the Ministry. The national competition, launched for technical schools, requires the construction of an automatic machine with free range purpose with the use of controllers, operator interface devices, and electric drives. The entire team of students was organized in groups, as in a real company, in order to carry out the design and mechanical construction, electrical, software, and for the technical records.
