What we already thought would be a fun trip turned out to be so much more: the love and enthusiasm of the exhibitors, attendees and Maker Faire Rome’s team for innovation, education, and general celebration of the maker movement was awe-inspiring. There is so much to see that a single year in attendance is not enough, so if you ever get the opportunity, head to this show, soak in the sea of inventions, and make some great friends along the way.

MAKEBA gioielli
MAKEBA is a fashion accessories collection evoking remote scents of Africa.
MAKEBA demonstrate that technology, innovation and craftsmanship can create something unique and original.
The necklace, the flagship item of the collection, is made of laser-cut Plexiglas and geometric aluminium elements. The pieces are hand-sewn together with a waxed thread and matched with a calf leather band.
Each necklace is a unique and singular piece because the combination of the elements is always different and hand-made.
The collection includes matching earrings and geometric “decora-bottoni”, all 3D-printed using the FDM technology.

KRICA design
Krizia and Jessica are friends by chance. Authentic Marchigiane girls who are always seeking for the most hidden treasures of their land, decide,
not by chance to start a new journey called Krica Design.
The purpose of this experience is to learn the "know how" techniques that are typical of the traditional handicraft, but with a contemporary approach that fits
the new digital era.
Krica wants to discover, to experiment and to have the chance to reinvent the handicraft through the revolutionary potentiality of the new digital
technologies, not only limited to the customization of the product, but supporting a new conception of the ancient professions.
Krica Design's main goal is to create objects that tell the story of the people we met and the places we have lived, ingredients that made these object's
realization possible.
