Advanced Drones in Education

This is an Advanced Drone with two anti-collision systems. One for obstacles within 4 meters, and a long-range one that works as an "Early Anti Collision Warning". It uses a RealSense R200 3D camera and an RGB camera to detect obstacles along its primary path and analyze alternatives for collision avoidance. The drone also uses a thermocamera and an RGB camera for surveillance purposes: it can track heat signatures, detect (and recognize known) faces, detect people, cars and other vehicles. The system runs on the Super Computer nVidia Jetson TX2, Linux based, and uses a Pixhawk 2 Cube flight controller. The software has been developed using Python as a programming language, OpenCV for image processing, MavLink and DroneKit to control and pilot the drone. The drone is capable of fully autonomous flight (GPS waypoints and/or following heat sources).
