VOLPE NORDICA - Contenitore e seduta
Nordic fox could be both a container or a seat. It is made with two pieces of plywood bend and glued together. It is light, stackable, resistent, colourful and has a really clean line.
You can move it thanks to the handle. It fits everywhere very easily.
The purpose of the project was to create a multifunctional wooden container using bended plywood.
The structure is made with two different techniques: the flat parts were cut off from panels while the curved parts were made alternating 7 layers of plywood with 6 layers of glue. After that the layers were heat up to adhere the glue to the wood and immediately after they were placed inside the pressing machine: with this machine the curvature was obtained thanks to the negative and positive miles.

Lavinia is a 23-year-old Industrial Designer from Senigallia, Marche. She has skills from technique and artistic education which allow her to develop design and organizational capacities.
Thanks to her design and language studies she is able to act in different multicultural context with reliability and determination.
Lavinia is motivated by the desire to listen people and the passion for the creative use of all types of machinery, cnc and not. She is in a collaboration with Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
