SMArty, il supporto brachiale di Martina
SMArty has been realized as a substitute for the isometric work of the shoulder and for assisting the push-up and stretch movement of the elbow. The device is provided with a parallelogram system which contains a spring that supports the weight of the arm and with a double roller bearing junction that guarantees the movement with minimum work in the horizontal plane. Our prototype is provided with arm and forearm supports, made of PLA and obtained from 3D printing technique, covered with materials that allow maximum comfort during its use. It is possible to fold the device on the wheelchair side in order to avoid taking up more space than necessary.

We are five students in engineering at the Politecnico of Turin that met each other thanks to the project Hackability@Polito. This project allows us to work with disabled children and to make customize devices for their necessities.
