Prof. Vincenzo Lippiello
Vincenzo Lippiello was born in Naples, Italy, on June 19, 1975. He received the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II in the December 2000. In March 2004 he recieved a PhD in Information Engeenering from the University of Naples Federico II. From June 2004 to May 2005 he recieved a research grant under the project "Creazione di operatori per il trasferimento tecnologico da enti pubblici di ricerca a piccole e medie imprese; azione 3: tecnologie dellâ€™informazione per lâ€™automazione dei relativi processi produttivi", funded by the regionl government. From June 2005 to May 2007 he recieved a grant for a cooperation research activities "Visual control of cooperatve robotic systems" from the Department of Computer Science and Systems of the University of Naples Federico II. From June 2007 and for eight months he recieved a grant "Controllo dellâ€™interazione tra uomo e robot" to support the European project PHRIENDS (FP6-045359) at the Department of Computer Science and Systems of the University of Naples Federico II. Since November 2015 he is Associate Professor for the scientific sector ING-INF/04 (Automatic control) at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Naples Federico II. Since 2011 he is member of the IFAC Technical Committee 4.3 on Robotics. Since 2014 he is a member of the review panels of the European Commission for the H2020's reseach programme, and a member of the review panel for the Research Council of Norway and for the National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation of the Kazakistan Republic for the evaluation of national projects. From 2011 to 2013 he has delegated as chief scientist for the research project FP7 AIRobots "Innovative Aerial Service Robots for Remote Inspections by Contact" (Collaborative Project - ICT 248669 - airobots.ing.unibo.it) funded by the European Union with â‚¬ 2,616,000 of which â‚¬ 530,072 for the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering, University of Naples Federico II. From 2011 to 2015 he has been delegated as chief scientist for the research project FP7 ARCAS "Aerial Robotics Cooperative Assembly system" (Collaborative Project - ICT 287617 - www.arcas-project.eu) funded by the European Union with â‚¬ 6,150 000, of which â‚¬ 1,023,200 for the University of Naples Federico II. From 2013 to 2017 he is the Principal Investigator for the CREATE Consortium research and for the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Naples Federico II of the international research project FP7 SHERPA "Smart collaboration between Human-aerial and ground robots for improving rescuing activities in Alphine environments", funded by the European Commission (Collaborative Project - ICT 600958 - www.sherpa-project.eu) with â‚¬ 8,550,000 of which â‚¬ 941,800 for the local research unit. His research interests include visual tracking and servoing of robot manipulators, 3D object grasping, grasp synthesis, visual/force control, and aerial manipulation. He has published 100 journal and conference papers.
