Misura intensimetrica delle emissioni otoacustiche
Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) are acoustic signals generated in the human cochlea that provide detailed diagnostic information about the hearing function. They are usually measured inserting in the ear canal a probe consisting of loudspeakers delivering an acoustic stimulus and a microphone measuring the OAE evoked response. We designed a new probe incorporating a pressure/velocity sensor, which allows one to calibrate the stimulus fed to the ear and to evaluate the OAE signal coming from the eardrum, using analysis algorithms based on the evaluation of intensimetric physical quantities.
