Smart Homes and Smart Cities
In particular, during the exhibition a set of prototypes, realized by the students during the lessons and as exam projects, will be presented. All these systems belong to the same application scenario, i.e., the Smart Home, and have been developed exploiting 3D printing techniques, Integrated Circuit design, Arduino microcontrollers and different local and global communication technologies.
IoT Lab - DIISM - UNISI
Thanks to the knowledges acquired in the last years on key technlogies for the IoT sector, such as Wireless Sensor Networks, mobile platforms, RFID and Local Networks, the team is developing different projects in several sectors, ranging from cultural heritage to environmental monitoring up to services for Smart Cities.
The IoT Lab encompasses high level knowledges in the fields of embedded programming, focusing on Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone platforms, wireless communication technologies such as ZigBee, Bluetooth LE, LoRa and Sigfox, and mobile Android and iOS programming.
The IoT Lab is currently composed of a Full Professor, an Assistant Professor, and external collaborator and several students.
