Motoalert - Sicurezza per i motociclisti
Born from the need of a couple of motorcyclists, visitors to the Maker Faire last year, this tool is used to monitor the distance of the car that follows us, when we are in motion, using a LASER sensor. When the distance becomes too short, also in relation to speed, an alarm and deterrent message is displayed on an 8x32 LED matrix. In fact, one of the biggest sources of stress for motorcyclists is cars travelling too close. Motoalert interactively alerts the driver of the car when it gets too close. In the presented prototype we are also integrating the bluetooth interface that will allow the device to be controlled via the App. Furthermore we are studying the possibility of integrating the common functions present in the rear light of the bike in the display: arrow, stop, position lights, etc.

Pierluigi Zerbini & Andrea Orazi
We have been work colleagues in the field of computer security for about three years, and electronic DIY enthusiasts at all levels. Our competences and specializations are in some cases complementary and allow us to approach a project always with a global and critical vision. We like to transform "BITs" into something useful that facilitates everyday life. We are always looking for new technological "toys" to be inspired from and understand how they works.
