simultaneously for high speed data transmission but also for ambient lighting. On the contrary, the
Rapid changes in light intensity can be picked up by a photodiode which, used as part of a system
signal reception, in fact allows the capture of the light signal which will then be decoded for
to be able to extrapolate the information it contains.
In this context, the experience that we want to present is a demonstration of optical transmission of data (for example
image or texts) which foresees the use of LEDs in transmission and photodiodes in reception, properly controlled
via PC and Arduino boards (Figure 2-3). Specifically, it will be shown how it is possible to code information from
transmitting in a luminous signal and, subsequently, as in reception it is possible to reconstruct the data transmitted starting from
light signal picked up by the photodiode. The public will have the opportunity to interact, going directly to pilot the
transmission system through the PC.
