CNR4All +me: il dispositivo interattivo sperimentale, per il supporto della terapia dei bambini con ASD

CNR4All +me: il dispositivo interattivo sperimentale, per il supporto della terapia dei bambini con ASD

+me is an experimental interactive toy, shaped like a soft panda, which can emit attractive outputs as coloured lights and amusing sounds, when touched on paws or head. The device, designed for small children, is wiressly connected to a control tablet: through this, an adult caregiver can select an modify the output patterns, according to child’s reactions. The features of +me –which we call Transitional Wearable Companion– make it a potential tool for therapy with children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders characterised by impairments in the social area, as it could be used to encourage social interactions during play activities with the therapist. The device is currently in experimental phase, and was tested and two small groups of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Language Disorders.
Potential use as support tool in theraphy with children (24-48 months) with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
