"The presentation will illustrate the PHE (Patient Health Engagement) Model and the importance of active involvement of patients in managing their health in the current context. Then will be illustrated the model's scientifically validated instrument for the psychological measurement of engagement, the PHE-S (Patient Health Engagement Scale) and its technological application in the era of digital health. A special focus will be given to behavioural change interventions on patients, the promotion of adherence and proper management of the disease thanks to digital health devices designed according the PHE model."

"Guendalina got her PhD in Psychology (with scholarship) at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan (UCSC) in 2007, where she is now full professor. At the same University he is a member of the coordination of the PhD school in Psychology and part of the board of directors of the TROFIC University Centre. Since 2018 she is the director of the EngageMinds Hub University Research Centre, dedicated to the theme of Engagement in Health.
Her research and scientific activities are mainly devoted to patient engagement in health and wellbeing, consumer health psychology, healthcare organization innovation and ehealth. She has spent the last 10 years of activity in constructing bridges between scientific/academic knowledge and. At present she is coordinating an intra and inter university reflection for contributing to priorities and policies discussions on patient engagement.

In 2014 she validated the PATIENT HEALTH ENGAGEMENT Scale: the first measure of the patients' psychological experience of engagement in chronic care management, which is now widely adopted by healthcare and research organizations worldwide.

She counts more than one hundred of scientific pubblications and according to the international scientific database Scopus she is the most productive scholar in the domain of PATIENT ENGAGEMENT."
