Tecnopolo Rome is one of the main technology hubs in Italy, with over 100 companies and startups operating in 10 different strategic sectors and 2 certified incubators hosting more than 30 innovative startups.
Tecnopolo S.p.A. is a joint stock company established by the Chamber of Commerce of Rome, which has a 96% participation in it.
Tecnopolo Roma is made up of two distinct technology hubs, by sectorial vocation as well as territorial location, both driven by the same mission: to create innovation: Tecnopolo Roma Tiburtino is the first Rome technology park designed and created by Tecnopolo S.p.A., it is the headquarters of companies and startups of ICT, Electronics and Telecommunications, Aerospace and Space Economy, Innovation, Research
and Technology Transfer and Tecnopolo Roma Castel Romano, the research hub of excellence in the sector of Health, Biotechnology and Life Sciences, Innovation, Research and Technology Transfer, New Materials and Advanced Manufacturing, with innovative enterprises, research centers and laboratories.
Tecnopolo Roma attracts, hosts and promotes innovative entrepreneurial and R&D initiatives with a high technology content, to develop, experiment and test solutions, products and services.
Tecnopolo Roma also organizes and proposes activities focused on R&D development, technology transfer and research-business link.
Tecnopolo Roma also acts as an intermediary hub with local institutions and companies, universities and research centers, promoting initiatives and facilities aimed at supporting companies and startups.
Tecnopolo S.p.A. also acts as the lead partner in the R.O.M.E. Digital Hub project – 'Research and innovation Organisation for the dissemination of knowledge on advanced technologies' (R.O.M.E.), a project that is part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) network, created as part of the Digital Europe programme, the EU programme to accelerate recovery and drive Europe's digital transformation.
The R.O.M.E. Digital Hub project has been awarded the ‘Seal of Excellence’, a recognition given to Research and Innovation project proposals that have received a positive evaluation from the European Commission. The project is being financed by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (MIMIT) as part of Investment 2.3 “Strengthening and extending the thematic and territorial scope of technology transfer centres for industry segments”, included in Component 2 “From research to business” of Mission 4 “Education and research” of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The R.O.M.E. Digital Hub project involves more than 20 partners, including universities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), technology parks, research centres, business associations and a Digital Innovation Hub (DIH).
Tecnopolo Roma will be present at Maker Faire Rome 2025 to promote the R.O.M.E. Digital Hub project and the wide range of digital transformation services offered by the partnership. These services are dedicated to supporting businesses and public administrations throughout the entire digital innovation process, from preliminary assessment to technological experimentation, through to operational implementation and access to specific funding.
The R.O.M.E. Digital Hub service catalogue includes key enabling technologies such as High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. In addition, services related to advanced digital skills are offered, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and many other emerging technologies. These services are designed to meet the growing needs of businesses and public administrations for digitalization and innovation, contributing to their growth and competitiveness.
