M.I.A. 21 (nanoparticelle e nanofili di Argento contro virus e batteri)
We have been designed and developed an antiviral facemask which uses nanotechnology to stop viruses including COVID-19. The face mask has 5 overlapping layers: 3 layers of non-woven fabric (synthetic fibers) and 2 layers of cotton and abaca (natural fibers). Silver nanoparticles and nanowires reduce bacterial load and nanowires also increase the mechanical strength of the textile fibers of the mask. We used extracts of black and green tea for green synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Nanoparticles have been applied both on the surface and inside to the natural fibers. Inside the face mask was inserted an NFC (electronic wireless communication systems) to give information on the state of use of face mask.
