AMMILAB
AMMILAB, the laboratory of the Italian Mechanical Music Association (AMMI), has the mission of reviving old music and mechanical musical instruments.
The participation at the MFR 2021 will be characterized by three automatic musicians: a robotic bassist, a drummer and a glockenspiel player! Real instruments played automatically. The bass guitar is held by a figure with the name ''Ray''. It can turn and lower the head, and radiate from its eyes with different colours. Two other Rays play a glockenspiel and a drum set. Rays play together with other automatic musical instruments and one "human" saxophonist. There will also be some historical mechanical music instruments
AMMILAB
AMMILAB is the laboratory of the Italian Mechanical Music Association (AMMI). Convinced about the importance, from the cultural and historical point of view, of the AMMI activities, the AMMILAB team develops technologies to revive old mechanical musical instruments in a modern way. We are musicians, technicians and programmers, music and automation lovers, dedicating part of our free time supporting actively the AMMI mission of preserving priceless musical treasures over the years. The lab is located in Biassono, above Milan, and works in close collaboration with the AMMI association located in Cesena, at the Musicalia museum.
