Compattatore ad alta funzionalit per la raccolta dei rifiuti urbani
A compactor vehicle for urban waste characterized by high functionality and low environmental impact was developed thanks to the collaboration of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" Department of Enterprise Engineering and Fratelli Mazzocchia company, in the research project "Automezzi compattatori ad elevata funzionalit per la raccolta e il trasporto dei rifiuti urbani - ACME" funded by the POR FESR LAZIO 2014-2020. The prototype vehicle is characterized by the following aspects: the reduction of consumption and / or the increase of transportable waste obtained by vehicle weight reduction through advanced design and the use of innovative materials such as recycled composites; the reduction of the noise emitted by the vehicle during operation; electric transmission; a remote monitoring system.
Federica Trovalusci
Federica Trovalusci, the principal investigator of the project, received a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", with a grade of 110/110 cum laude. and the title of PhD in "Materials Engineering". She is currently an Associate Professor of Technologies and Processing Systems at the "Mario Lucertini" Business Engineering Department of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The scientific research activity is oriented toward Unconventional processing; Technologies of polymeric materials and Technologies of special materials. He has coordinated numerous technology transfer projects and research projects funded on competitive Italian and European calls.
