ITSPHUN games and ornaments
A system of geometric shapes that can be combined to obtain colorful objects at the intersection of art and mathematics
Carmen Ionescu
Carmen Ionescu is a medical doctor, acupuncturist and artist currently living in Brussels, Belgium.
She is passionate about crafts and always takes pleasure in discovering and combine new mediums to create her pieces, whether it be jewelry, crocheting or knitting.
IN 2014 she enthusiastically got into the ITSPHUN project developed alongside her long time mathematician friends who are living in USA. She added phantasy and colour into the project.
Carmen finds inspiration from many sources, one of which is Mathematics. Both her parents were engineers and she herself attended a special class in high school for mathematically gifted students where she met her friends. As a result of this affinity, Carmen has also experimented with hyperbolic geometry in her crochet and knitting.
