Water and contaminants a close up below our feet - Acqua e contaminanti uno sguardo sotto di noi
The laboratory facility allows to simulate the principal hydrological phenomena from rainfall up to the groundwater flow and the river discharge. Contaminant and tracer movement in subsurface environment can be also simulated and visualized. The emerging environmental issues arising from the climate change such as the water management and water quality problems can be explained and displayed in a simple and interactive way.
Antonio Zarlenga and HyAware Lab of the Engineering Department of the University of Roma Tre.
Antonio Zarlenga is Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering at Roma Tre University. His know-how is mainly related to stochastic modeling of flow and transport processes in the subsurface, hillslope and catchment dynamics and health risk assessment.
The mission of the Hydrology And water resources management (HyAware) Lab is reaching a deep understanding of the natural and human driven phenomena within the hydrologic cycle. New challenges in sustainable society advancement are faced with the application-oriented tools including frontier findings and technologies.
