Nido is a birdhouse/ nest for the Italian sparrow; a particular
endangered species of passerines of the Passeridae sparrow family,
present exclusively in Italy. The bird is of great scientific importance
for the genetics and biology of birds that require serious attention
towards pragmatic conservation. Nido is made of bioplastic based on
food scraps of birds such as nut shells. The design of this shelter will
aesthetically based on the historical and architectural qualities of the city of Rome,
in Italy. Since the Colosseum is undoubtedly the symbol of the city - the apotheosis of the
creativity and architectural beauty of the Mighty Roman -, combining and
simplifying its form, the final project of Nido aims to be an inspired
minimalist representative of this magnificent monument.
