What we already thought would be a fun trip turned out to be so much more: the love and enthusiasm of the exhibitors, attendees and Maker Faire Rome’s team for innovation, education, and general celebration of the maker movement was awe-inspiring. There is so much to see that a single year in attendance is not enough, so if you ever get the opportunity, head to this show, soak in the sea of inventions, and make some great friends along the way.

System for monitoring the RF spectrum
Localization of RF emitters is becoming a must in several application fields such as search and rescue, military, Internet-of-Things, cognitive radio, and others. The proposed system allows the real-time monitoring of a wideband RF spectrum and the localization of emitters. In particular, the system consists of a wireless sensor network where each node is synchronized with the others and transmits the acquired signal to a control station. The control station is able to localize all the RF emitters and provide information regarding the transmitted signals. Several types of communication systems working in the frequency range from MHz up to 3 GHz can be monitored and localized simultaneously.
