What we already thought would be a fun trip turned out to be so much more: the love and enthusiasm of the exhibitors, attendees and Maker Faire Rome’s team for innovation, education, and general celebration of the maker movement was awe-inspiring. Refurbish Ninja
Refurbish Ninja is a Metro Olografix project of Social Innovation and Circular Economy project, to overcome the boundaries of planned obsolescence toward a better future through 3 macro-actions:
- the recovery of electronic material donated in specific collection points;
- the development of personal and professional skills for young people under 35 through Refurbishing, Digital Storytelling, Conscious use of social networks and Creative Entrepreneurship workshops;
- the creation of a relational artwork.

Metro Olografix
Metro Olografix telematic cultural association was born in Pescara in 1994 thanks to the commitment of computer enthusiasts, hackers and geeks as a response to the Italian Crackdown. The purpose of the Metro is to decline information technology in a social key with attention to the ethical use of IT tools, privacy, network security and open source. Metro is a virtual community based on the free circulation of information and has many members around the world who are committed to spread the culture of innovation in an ethical way.
