3D printing from micro to Macro - La stampa 3D dal Micro al Macro
We present here the new 3DINGLab of the engineering department, where a unique combination of 3D printing machines is available (from micron to macroscopic scales)., with applications ranging from nanotechnologies to civil engineering. As relevant examples, we will show printed micro-devices and smart multifunctional materials, with live demonstrations. Then, examples of the use of 3D printing technologies for cultural heritage applications will be shown, to demonstrate how additive manufacturing can be relevant for restoration and preservation of works of art and ancient buildings. Finally, there will be examples of high-resolution 3D printed structures, obtained by Low Force Stereolitography e Two Photon Ligtography

The diffused Laboratory for additive manufacturing (3DINGLab) is part of the Engineering Department of the University of Roma Tre, winner of the selection for the "Departments of excellence 2018-2022" of the MIUR for the area "08 - Civil Engineering and Architecture". The laboratory receives contribution from more than fifty researchers and PhD students, and can show a unique combination of facilities, ranging from micro-scale 3D printing (for applications in materials science, nanotechnology, micro-device and metamaterial development), to macro (for applications in civil and aeronautical engineering).
