Organoidi: avatar 3D per conoscere e curare i tumori.

Tumor organoids are 3D experimental models derived from cancer cells that recapitulate the characteristics of their tissues of origin. Organoid models offer insights into all aspects covering tumor development, progression and response to the treatment of tissue obtained from individual patients. Therefore, tumor organoids can be used as personalized avatars for translational studies aimed at improving precision oncology.

At our Institute there are several studies ongoing dedicated to the generation and use of tumor organoids as a surrogate for the evaluation of the efficacy of different therapeutic approaches.
