BUDD-e
The BUDD-e project involves a multidisciplinary team of Politecnico di Milano to design and realize an autonomous robotic guide for blind and visually impaired users. BUDD-e is composed of (1) the autonomous vehicle YAPE, endowed with, e.g., a LIDAR for autonomous driving and interaction with a populated and dynamic environment; (2) a “smart tether system” for human-robot interaction.
Experimental validation tests are currently conducted in healthcare facilities (ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda) and in sport centers (Centro Sportivo Giuriati, Milano).
