The Open Source Playground is a space of interaction, based on components upcycled from wood and cardboard as well as other materials coming from urban waste chains. They are designed as processed through Digital Fabrication and Fab Labs to open imagination: open shapes produced with an open process, and open to interaction.

Università Roma Tre - Laboratorio Prototipi - Urban Retree

The Prototyping and Modelling Lab at Roma Tre University has launched since 2017 a research around the frugal innovation applied to upcycling and bottom up fabrication and maintenance of common goods in parks, public and shared spaces. This research joined the network of good practices around the combination of social and technical innovation promoted by Roma BPA (Best Practice Award) and especially to the joint initiative called Urban Retree, that promotes a renewed urban supply chain for upcycled materials involving among others : k_alma (social carpentry), Ge.Ve.San (maintenance of vegetation for Rome Municipality), Rete delle Scuole Green ( network of "green schools").
