Soccer Robot Players - TU Dortmund University
The team Nao Devils of the Technical University of Dortmund in Germany participates in the RoboCup SPL league. The RoboCup Standard Platform League is a soccer league where all teams participate using an identical robot platform, currently the NAO humanoid robot manufactured by Aldebaran. Research in this league focuses on algorithmic development for fully autonomous robots.
At each annual RoboCup, the league holds a soccer team competition and several technical challenges. At RoboCup 2023, the soccer team competition will feature 7 vs. 7 matches in the champions cup division and 5 vs. 5 matches in the challenge shield division. Meanwhile, technical challenges at RoboCup 2023 will include a visual referee challenge, a dynamic ball handling challenge and at least one in-game challenge.
NaoDevils - TU Dortmund University
The team Nao Devils of the Technical University of Dortmund in Germany participates in the RoboCup Standard Platform League since 2009. Being part of the Robotics Research Institute, we conduct our research in the field of autonomous robotics. The team consists of computer science and electrical engineering students as well as scientists from TU Dortmund. In this year's RoboCup 2023 in France, we reached 5th place in the champions cup and 2nd place in the overall ranking of the technical challenges. Throughout the year we take part in various local workshops and events, such as our own workshop RoDeO in Dortmund or the RoHOW workshop in Hamburg. In addition, this year we are happy to support and compete with the SPQR team and HULKs at Maker Faire Rome.
