IED - ISTITUTO EUROPEO DI DESIGN
Istituto Europeo di Design was founded in Milan in 1966 based on Francesco Morelli's extraordinary vision. Today, IED is the only School of Higher Education in the creative field to have preserved its Italian cultural references. The Rome seat was founded in 1973, and each year it launches innovative projects in the disciplines of Design, Fashion, Visual Arts and Communications, with a curriculum that includes more than 60 Three-year, Master's and Continuing Education programmes.
Directed since 2019 by Laura Negrini, IED Rome has three seats in the city in the San Giovanni and Testaccio districts, and boasts a network of 500 professional teachers and 1,500 students, 90% of whom find work within six months of graduation.
The aim is to educate contemporary professionals with solid specific and vertical design skills, and at the same time offer the richness of an interdisciplinary curriculum and create challenging opportunities that inspire students to test their personal limits.
To establish a direct link between teaching and the working world, IED Rome actively participates in events and activities in the area, such as the Film Festival, Altaroma, Maker Faire and Romics, and has established partnerships with prestigious companies, thus offering every student the opportunity to personally engage with local professionals.
