Maker Faire Rome è stata l’inizio di tutto per TERRAVIONICS: è lì che ci siamo conosciuti tra co-founders ed è sempre lì che, in occasione dell’11° edizione del 2023, abbiamo volutamente ricercato e trovato altri membri che si sono aggiunti al nostro team. È uno dei pochi “luoghi” realmente “ideali” per confrontarsi, migliorarsi e… innescare le idee!

What is the context of your innovation?
Microalgae and their production are already a reality, for now they are considered food supplements, and little by little they are entering food preparations, feed, agriculture and pharmaceuticals, their production is characterized by having a low concentration in water where they grow up to 1 g/l by converting light
What is your project about?
Our idea is to resolve the most important limit that reduces its concentration, light, in fact we have invented light guides in order to optimize the cells' access to it, a joint effort between biologists, engineers, physicists, and chemists to give birth to an innovation that will radically change production
What are the next steps?
the project is at an experimental stage in an industrial production plant of approximately 60m3 reaching version 2.0 of the technology with very promising results, we are scaling the technology by redesigning the production plants on the specifications of this new technology which goes beyond the limits of the old systems.
