SASA: Sapienza Rocket Team
What is the project about?
Among the prototypes there will be:
MINERVA, model rocket built to participate in the international competition EuRoC 2024;
JUNO, a modular experimental prototype that allowed us to test various innovative subsystems;
CARONTE, designed for the transport and release of a payload;
A hybrid engine, intended for future integration on rockets.
Where did you get the idea?
Our projects arise from the desire to integrate new subsystems and consolidate the experience acquired. The realization goes through various phases: design and CAD drawing of the components, structural and aerodynamic simulations to validate the results, finally arriving at the actual construction in the laboratories.
How are creativity, technology, ingenuity and innovation combined in your project?
Innovation arises from the work of members of various departments, who also collaborate with each other to deal with budget problems and deadlines; juggling various active projects and university exams. We overcome difficulties with creative and ingenious solutions, which often require the use of advanced technologies and encourage us to improve.
