Maker Faire Rome è stata l’inizio di tutto per TERRAVIONICS: è lì che ci siamo conosciuti tra co-founders ed è sempre lì che, in occasione dell’11° edizione del 2023, abbiamo volutamente ricercato e trovato altri membri che si sono aggiunti al nostro team. È uno dei pochi “luoghi” realmente “ideali” per confrontarsi, migliorarsi e… innescare le idee!

3D printed micro- and nano-architected materials
What is the context of your innovation?
The project fits into the context of multi/scale synergies interconnected to 3D printing technologies from macro- to micro- and nano-additive synthesis. The innovations concern meta-materials with exceptional strength properties and reduced weights for structural applications in the aeronautical field, using double photon lithography.
What is your project about?
Nano-scale printing technologies make it possible to achieve specific resistances (relative to density) comparable to those of diamond. The mechanisms are based on the synergies between the architecture of the material and very small scales which allow for a reduced quantity of defects (responsible for failures).
What are the next steps?
These materials are currently being studied at TRL1-3 and applied in the field of micro-electronics. The group is currently designing and studying new means to improve reliability and therefore enable scale-up.
