What is the context of your innovation?
The innovation of our technologies is in the field of tissue engineering and personalized medicine. The tools we are developing will help researchers to find new personalized therapeutic agents and support doctors to apply novel clinical strategies. Nowadays the models to study human diseases and identify efficient drugs rely on animal models an
What is your project about?
Our technologies aim to realize 3D functional human tissues that resemble closer the in vivo ones. The 3D bioprinting allows the deposition of living material in a desired shape. We use a microfluidic printing head mounted on the 3D bioprinter to deposit in a precise manner multimaterial and multicellular fibres to fabricate sophisticated surrog
What are the next steps?
3. The on-going projects are still experimental. The next step is to implant such 3D printed structures inside animal model to investigate the degree of vascularization and integration.

The team is INTER: international, interdisciplinary, interactive, interesting! We are Postdocs, PhDs and MSc students with different backgrounds that converged into the 3D biofabrication laboratory: a perfect mix of engineers, chemists, and biologists that synergically cooperate to carry out numerous projects on disease modelling or regenerative medicine.
