Maker Faire Rome has always been one of my favorite shows. It brings makers, hobbyists and enthusiasts of all ages and genres together in one place. The ability to show the newest technology and the coolest STEM products is something that can’t be done to this caliber anywhere else. We at DigiKey are lucky to be a part of this great maker event.

"Assembla ANGELO, costruisci solidarietà"
What is the project about?
ANGELO is an open source hearing device that promotes access to hearing care for seniors and LMICs.
With over 1.5 billion people suffering from hearing loss, often linked to cases of dementia, it represents an inclusive, economical and customizable solution: a change within reach for millions of people.
Where did you get the idea?
Personal experience with my father-in-law Angelo, a resilient 104-year-old grandfather who remained emotionally, psychologically and acoustically isolated during the recent pandemic.
The possibility of sharing the emotional return of this personal experience for free is the basis of the project
How are creativity, technology, ingenuity and innovation combined in your project?
I am a curious electronics technician who loves lateral thinking. Faced with the impossibility of being able to communicate with my father-in-law due to social distancing, I first created a prototype and subsequently involved, free of charge, talented and heterogeneous people in Italy and beyond who contributed to the current maturity of ANGELO

A precocious worker, always employed by technology companies, from PMI to multinationals, I graduated from evening school and then completed my education working with passionate and competent colleagues.
Since I was very young I have been attracted to looking inside objects and people: it is this curiosity that has accompanied my daily life since then.
