Portable assistive upper-limb exoskeletons

Portable assistive upper-limb exoskeletons

What is the context of your innovation?
To date, individuals with chronic upper limb motor disorders are typically advised to use passive orthoses (such as braces or arm supports). However, most of these aids only serve as support and do not allow the functionality of the limb to be actively improved.

What is your project about?
GraCE and H-PhlEx α are active devices, designed to assist people with upper limb motor disorders. The devices can be integrated with cutting-edge assistance modules. The devices allow the upper limb to be actively assisted, implementing assistance strategies completely adapted to the user.

What are the next steps?
The device modules were developed within the BioARM and BioARMnext and HABILIS++ research projects. The devices are prototypes certified for clinical use, which will be the subject of clinical studies in autumn/winter 2024.
