The two students from I.T. “L. Di Maggio” in San Giovanni Rotondo who designed it called it LessonBuddy: the virtual friend that helps you study. In reality it is much more than a virtual friend. “The student wearing the device is able to record his or her own brain activity during a learning session,” explain the two designers Vittorio Lo Mele and Alessio Cusenza. LessonBuddy, Vittorio and Alessio will be among the protagonists at Maker Faire Rome 2021, to be held from 8 to 10 October in the former Gazometro area, in Rome’s Ostiense district. But let’s take a closer look at the details of the project.

LessonBuddy is an electroencephalogram headset made of recycled hardware. The student wearing the device is able to record his brain activity during a learning session. At the end of the recording, the student can check the data through special software. The project can help pupils suffering from attention disorders, so that teachers can identify the causes of attention lapses and effectively modify their study methodology.
