MFR20 welcoming Eni as Main Partner.
MFR20 welcomes Eni – once again – as it’s main partner for the Maker Faire Rome 2020 Edition!
We are particuraly proud about their vision which is +innovation, +efficiency and +accessibility for all, the shape of tomorrow’s energy.
Eni News
Eni, through its subsidiary Eni New Energy, operating under the new business unit Energy Evolution, has started power production from the new photovoltaic plant in Volpiano, with a total capacity of 18 MW.
The project was developed inside Eni’s Fuel Depot in Volpiano and is part of the “Progetto Italia”.
This scheme, launched in 2016, redevelops sites that are part of Eni’s industrial assets into renewable energy plants, creating new opportunities in the district.
A New Plant
So, the authorisation procedure, in which the town of Volpiano and the local authorities played a proactive role, ended in 2019 when the Metropolitan City of Turin granted the Single Authorisation.
But the plant, built on an industrial area of approximately 32 hectares, will generate over 27 GWh, 10% of which will supply energy to Eni’s site, reducing the use of electricity from the national grid by more than 50%.
How The Eni’s energy will be supplied
Moreover the remaining energy will be supplied to the market, without benefiting from incentive mechanisms.
In addition, this initiative will prevent the emission of around 370,000 tonnes of CO2 over the service life of the plant, therefore contributing to the decarbonisation goals of Italy’s Integrated National Plan for Energy and Climate.
Eni New Energy
After that, with the launch of the Volpiano plant, Eni New Energy has reached a photovoltaic capacity in operation of around 85 MW, and aims to exceed 250 MW by 2023.
This initiative is consistent with Eni’s vision that combines economic with environmental sustainability, and reinforces the company’s leading role at the forefront of the industry thanks to its decarbonised energy products and its active contribution to the energy transition process.
Eni’s renewable energy
Eni’s strategy in the renewable energy sector aims at reaching a balanced and diversified global portfolio of over 3 GW of installed wind and solar power by 2023 and of 5 GW by 2025. Eni starts production at an 18 MW photovoltaic plant inside the Volpiano fuel depot
The creation of an all-Italian leading entity in the supply chain of polymers
Versalis announces the signing of the closing that formalizes the acquisition of a 40% stake in the Finproject capital from VEI Capital.
The Eni company thus, enters the high-performance formulated polymer sector and extends its position towards businesses that are more resilient to the volatility of the chemical industry scenario.
For example, to support the health situation and respond to the growing demand, they have launched a new ethanol-based liquid hand disinfectant obtained from vegetable raw materials.
Eni and Versalis
Work to complete the operation during lockdown never ceased subsequently, today Versalis launches an industrial partnership with Finproject group, a market leader in the production of cross-linkable and thermoplastic compounds and in the moulding of products for the footwear sector, and products in ultra-light materials under the brand XL EXTRALIGHT®.
