Welcome to the Platform for Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition 2020!

We are aware of the importance of your personal data, and for this reason we undertake to process it with the utmost care in order to guarantee its security and confidentiality.

With this information on the processing of personal data, provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (hereinafter “the Regulation” for simplicity), we aim to describe the methods and logic we use to process the personal data of users of the site digital.makerfairerome.eu (hereinafter for brevity also simply “the Site” or “the Platform”).

The information is provided to all users who provide their personal data when interacting with the Site.

The validity of the information contained on this page is limited to the Site only and does not extend to other websites that may be viewed via hyperlink.

By using this Site, users accept this information and are therefore asked to read it before providing any kind of personal information.

The Data Controller is Innova Camera, a Special Company of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, with registered office at Via de’ Burrò 147 – 00186 Rome.

Types of data processed

Browsing data

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire some personal data during their normal operation, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols.

This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects but by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, enable users to be identified.

This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who connect to the website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response from the server (success, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the operating system and IT environment.

This data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the Site and to check its correct functioning; it is deleted immediately after processing. This data could be used to determine responsibility in the event of possible computer crimes against the website.

Data provided voluntarily by users

Personal data is provided by users in order to use the Site’s services. The Data Controller does not collect or process personal data relating to children under the age of 14. By accessing the Site and using the services offered, you declare to be at least 14 years old. Users under the age of 14 are therefore requested not to provide personal data. In the event of violations, we will deny access, suspend or cancel the user’s account, without notice. We underline that some webinars will be held on the Zoom platform. Data provided for account registration

To register your account and access the platform contents you will have to enter your email address. After having received an email for the account creation, you will complete your profile, if you want, by entering data such as name and surname and select, if you wish, other information relating to your preferences and interests. This information is optional: therefore, if you provide it, you will be able to view content more in line with your interests; if you do not provide it, you will still be able to use the services offered by the Platform.

Innova Camera will use the email address provided for participation in the fair to inform you about similar initiatives. This processing is based on the legitimate interest of the Data Controller, therefore you can at any time request not to receive other communications, by exercising the right to object pursuant to Article 21 of the GDPR by writing an email to privacy@innovacamera.it or in any case, when sending any communication, by clicking on the appropriate link.

We inform you that following registration on the Platform, when you participate in a webinar/event organised by a partner/sponsor, Innova Camera may send third parties (Partners/Sponsors of the fair) the data you enter during registration and participation in order to receive commercial communications.

Data provided using contact addresses

This is the information you decide to provide by writing to the addresses indicated on the Platform. In this case, we process your data such as your email address and any other information you include in the communication.

Data provided for participation in Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition 2020

During the fair, the Data Controller will be able to take photos (including screenshots) and audio/video footage of the activities taking place at the virtual stands. By activating your webcam and audio, you are aware that you may be filmed. These images or videos may be published on the website and social media channels of the fair or of the Partners/Sponsors. By taking part, you consent to images being recorded and used. If you do not wish to be filmed, we ask you not to turn on your microphone and not to activate your webcam.

You also have the option to interact in virtual rooms by writing in a chat function. In this case, we remind you that your comments will be associated with your first and last name and may be recorded.

Data provided for receiving commercial communications from third parties

With your express consent, Innova Camera may transmit the data you enter during registration to third parties (Partners/Sponsors of the fair) in order to receive commercial communications. These entities will process your data as independent Data Controllers. When visiting a stand, you also have the option to share your data (first and last name, email address) directly with the Sponsors or Exhibitors, in order to be contacted by them and receive commercial communications.

Purpose and legal basis

The Data Controller processes personal data for the following purposes:

  • To enable account creation, use of the Site’s services and communication of the data provided to partners/sponsors of the fair, in order to receive commercial information if participating in a webinar/event. The processing of such data is based on the execution of the contract. Providing your email address, first/last name and age is necessary for the registration procedure and therefore, if it is not provided, it will not be possible to proceed with creating the account. Entering other data is optional. The use of the email address provided during registration to send similar communications is based on the legitimate interest of the Data Controller.
  • To respond to your requests for information and assistance. The processing is functional to fulfil your request and is based on the execution of a contract or pre-contractual measures.
  • To ensure the proper functioning of web pages and their content.
    In this case, the data processing is based on the legitimate interest of the Data Controller.
  • To carry out communication and promotional activities by collecting and disseminating photos and videos that show fair participants. The processing is based on the data subject’s consent.
  • To communicate the data provided to partners/sponsors of the fair in order to receive commercial information. The processing is based on the data subject’s consent.

Processing methods

The data will be processed with methods and procedures strictly necessary to pursue the purposes for which it was collected, manually and/or with the aid of electronic tools.

In order to avoid the risk of loss, illicit use or incorrect use of the data, unauthorised access or alterations to it, suitable technological and management security measures have been adopted. Personal data will be processed by the Data Controller, by authorised personnel or by persons specifically appointed as Data Processors.

Disclosure and dissemination of data

  • Browsing data may be communicated to the judicial authorities if there is a need to investigate crimes.
  • Should you wish to keep in touch with an Exhibitor or Sponsor, you can decide to share your contact details directly with them when you visit their specific stand. In this case, the Exhibitor or Sponsor will process the data as an autonomous Data Controller. You are therefore aware that by sharing your data, you may also receive promotional communications from them.
  • If during the registration phase you have given consent to your data being transmitted to Sponsors and Partners of the initiative, Innova Camera will share the data entered in the form with them.
  • When you take part in webinars/events, your data will be transmitted to Sponsors and Partners of the initiative.
  • The Data Controller may disseminate the photos and videos depicting participants on its channels and communicate them to its Partners/Sponsors.

Retention

The Data Controller adopts the following policies regarding the retention of data of the Site’s users:

  • Your account will remain active for two months from the end of the fair. Before this period, you can ask us to cancel your account.
  • Your email address and first and last name will be kept to send you communications about the fair and similar initiatives organised in the future by Innova Camera. You can object to receiving these communications at any time.
  • The data provided in the emails sent to the addresses published on the Site will be kept only for the time necessary to respond to the requests received and for no more than twelve months.
  • The photos and videos taken during the fair will be kept without time limits.

Exercising your rights

You can exercise the rights provided for by Article 15 and following of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 at any time by sending an email to privacy@innovacamera.it or by writing to Innova Camera, Via de’ Burrò 147 – 00186 Rome. We remind you that, if the conditions are met, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Guarantor as the supervisory data protection authority, if you believe that the processing of your personal data is in violation of current legal provisions.

Updates

The Privacy Policy of this Site is valid from 7 December 2020 and is subject to updates. Users are therefore asked to periodically check the content.
