Biotronic Arm, at Maker Faire Rome 2025 the robotic arm that works like a real one
A biomimetic robotic arm that reproduces the structure and function of a human limb using Arduino. Does it really exist? Yes, and you can even shake its hand. You can find it at Maker Faire Rome 2025, scheduled at the Gazometro Ostiense, from October 17th to 19th. Bringing it to the D15 space Gruppo Biotronico Fermi Roma.
Biotronic Arm aims to demonstrate how biomechanical concepts can be applied to educational and assistive robotics, explore the interaction between motor control and sensory feedback, and build a modular basis for future intelligent robotic prosthetics.

Like a Human Arm
The Biotronic Arm is a biomimetic robotic arm that reproduces the structure and function of a human limb. Using Arduino, servomotors, artificial muscles, simulated tendons, and force sensors, the system generates fluid movements and reacts dynamically to pressure applied.
The Biotronic Arm was born from the integration of multidisciplinary skills inspired by the STEAM method, combining Sports Science, Electronics, Computer Science, and Automation. The project combines knowledge of human anatomy with advanced technologies to create an innovative and educational robotic limb.
In the Biotronic Arm, creativity and innovation merge with technology and ingenuity to transform human anatomy into a responsive robotic system. It is an example of interdisciplinary synergy where science, coding, and movement meet to give life to new possibilities.
How it works
The system detects force through sensors mounted on the fingers and forearm. The data is transmitted to Arduino, which interprets the information and adjusts the servomotors’ activity in real time. The result is controlled and adaptive movement, allowing the arm to interact with objects and surfaces in a natural way.
