There’s also a small Tokamak reactor at Maker Faire Rome 2025. Come and discover it
Fabio Torrisi‘s technical background is as extensive as his passion: electronics, mechatronics, computer science, CAD, and cybersecurity. After years of research and experimentation, he decided to design something simple, useful, and scalable: a Wi-Fi counter for people or workpieces in commercial and industrial environments. The device, configurable at startup and completely autonomous, meets the needs of Industry 4.0 for access tracking.

Industry 4.0
Essential design, immediate use, and always-available data: this is proof of how, by combining expertise and practicality, innovation can be built starting from a garage, from a good idea.
His project will also be on display at Maker Faire Rome 2025, from October 17th to 19th.

A Small Tokamak Reactor
TRUST (Tuscia Research University Small Tokamak) is a small experimental tokamak designed for teaching and research. This machine, used to study nuclear fusion, allows students and technicians to acquire expertise in one of the most promising energy frontiers. The project integrates open source, innovative materials, and a focus on sustainability, with the goal of creating a compact laboratory capable of simulating processes at the heart of the global energy transition.
Happy Shiny Table
In the heart of Trieste’s SciFabLab, Gaia, Carlo, and Marco transformed an IKEA table into a brilliant, interactive platform. 741 RGB LEDs, weight sensors, and Arduino Uno R4: this is how the Happy Shiny Table was born, capable of visualizing the position of objects, teaching physics, and playing Tetris or Minesweeper. The table is an educational and artistic tool, used to explain concepts like center of mass in an intuitive and fun way. The three makers, all connected to the world of science research and education, believe that learning should also be a game—colorful, responsive, and unforgettable.
