Maker Faire Rome 2025: Fly into space and discover science with ESA projects
Understanding climate change and how it’s evolving is possible thanks to space technologies. Making satellite data accessible, understandable, and useful for managing natural resources is possible. ESA EO Touch Table is one of the projects that ESA – European Space Agency is bringing to Area E of Maker Faire Rome 2025, right next to the Ostiense Gasometer. The map is easy. Here, you can literally touch innovation in the Aerospace area. But that’s not all. We’ll tell you about the projects for this space in the sky. But to truly experience it, you have to participate. We look forward to seeing you from October 17th to 19th.

ESA EO TOUCH TABLE
It’s an interactive touch table that allows you to explore environmental and climate phenomena through satellite data. Earth images come to life in real time, offering a truly immersive experience. The goal of the ESA EO TOUCH TABLE, as it’s called, is to bring the public closer to understanding climate change and space technologies by making satellite data accessible, understandable, and useful for managing natural resources.

Immersive virtual reality to explore ESA’s history
It’s called ESA VR TOUR and is an immersive virtual reality experience to explore the history of ESA and its Earth observation programs. You’ll be guided through two key installations: the Heritage Missions Walkthrough and the Memorabilia Wall. The mission? Virtually extending access to ESA’s heritage to those who cannot physically visit the facilities. All this thanks to VR, which combines storytelling, archives, and interactive content.
Space and environment have never been so close
EDU SAT and AQP are educational tools developed to introduce the public to IoT technologies, satellite data, and artificial intelligence (machine learning). This area explores the connection between space and the environment in a hands-on way, with the aim of educating about emerging technologies and sustainable management of the planet through interactive activities. The applications are based on real-world experiences conducted at ESA-ESRIN’s EO laboratory.
